The Artist

I am Barbara Sharp.  I received my Master of Fine Arts from the New York Academy of Art in May, 2023.

I am a diagnostic radiologist and interventional mammographer by training, worked for twenty-eight years in a large radiology group in Jacksonville, Florida, and now volunteer during the summer as a physician in Karatu, Tanzania at a small rural medical center.

I attended high school in Taiwan where I was fascinated by cultures and languages. I studied Mandarin language, calligraphy, and Chinese brush painting. While practicing medicine, I participated in many art workshops in Jacksonville, New York, San Francisco, and Europe.

I was recently honored to receive the Elizabeth Morse Genius Foundation Award for Works on Paper by the National Association of Women Artists.
